G-BLEST, was born in Detroit, MI. Raised by a single mother of 5, and growing up on the streets of Detroit, G-blest learned the art of survival. Drugs, guns, and violence was an everyday occurrence. To escape the poverty stricken streets G-BLEST turned to Hip-Hop.
At the age of 10 G-BLEST wrote his first rhyme. By the age of 15 G-BLEST rapped with the then local rap group called Men of Myth. G-BLEST was determined to make a name for himself. With the help of his great friend Jay Hudson G-BLEST free styled throughout the Detroit Metropolitan area as well as Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University. At the age of 21 G-BLEST traveled to the Mecca of hip hop, The Bronx, New York. That‘s where the legendary Kurtis Blow allowed G-BLEST to record his first demo with New York independent label 3 Deep Records. Once recording his first track “Posed to be” 3 Deep was eager to sign G-BLEST. With careful consideration and legal aide, G-BLEST signed the deal and began the journey to become a great M.C. After two years with 3 Deep, G-BLEST parted ways.
He returned to Detroit and began to question his purpose with music and even more so his salvation. GOD has always been a major part of his life and in order to succeed he needed something more than a few rhymes to break down the doors that seemed to be welled shut. G-BLEST’S ultimate goal is to make hip hop history. Becoming a business mogul and spiritual philanthropist is at the top of his list. G-BLEST’S work ethic and everyday faith is being tested but with the mic as his weapon of choice music is like a fire that burns deep within his soul.
