Keyworth Churches CYP Holiday Club has been running in its current form for the past ten years. It is run by a team of volunteers from Keyworth churches and led by youth and families’ worker, Andy Proffitt.

This year we welcomed around 80 children of primary school age to five mornings of activity under the theme of “Mega Makers”. In our all-together times we followed the adventures of Professor Brainwave and Boffin as they found out how to use the Mega Machine and foiled the evil plans of the evil Dr Upton O’Good – as well as singing, finding out about Jesus’ friend, Matthew - and throwing custard pies.

In our group times, we completed a different type of challenge each day; for example, our engineering challenge involved designing and testing an egg protection system! We found out more about Jesus through the story of Matthew, played outdoor team games and made lots of construction models. On Friday, 160 children and family members stayed for the traditional BBQ and play on the field, and we rounded off on Sunday with an all-age joint service hosted by Keyworth Baptist Church.

To find out more about next year’s holiday club (2015), contact Andy Proffitt through the Keyworth Methodist Church website.

SYNAGOGUE ATTACK

We express our deep sadness at the Synagogue killings in Manchester and extend our prayers for Jews across the country for their protection, peace and security. There is no place in our society for hatred. We are called to love God and our neighbours and to act justly.

ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY

We extend a warm welcome to Dame Sarah Mullally, the bishop of London, as the new Archbishop of Canterbury and assure her and our brothers and sisters at Keyworth parish church of our prayers for her future ministry. We will seek God's richest blessings for her and all who serve to build God's kingdom in this place and around the wider anglican communion.

YOU ARE WELCOME
