For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his nameshall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
The expectations on Jesus were staggering. But he really did bring peace - peace with God. The Prince of Peace would give his life in place of ours and because of his death, we have a life that will never end.
Peace may feel like a faraway concept for you this Christmas. Maybe you feel despair at the political landscape, perhaps your family are at loggerheads, or maybe you are just overwhelmed by the demands of life.
This Christmas, join us at church, spend time with the Christ-child and experience the peace he offers.
Here's a run down of where we'll be this Christmas: on Sunday 8th we'll be thinking about the Shepherds and considering how God sees (notices) us; on the 15th we'll be with Christins from across the village at the URC church at 10.30am for a joint nativity service; on the 22nd we'll be holding our fun, all aged Carol Service at 10.15am at Keyworth Primary School; you'll catch us on Christmas Eve carol singing in the village and on Christmas Day we'll be leading a joint service at the Methodist church.
We look forward to meeting you at any of these gatherings.
